Can you take Imitrex with Cymbalta?

A major drug interaction exists between Imitrex and Cymbalta. Concomitant use of Imitrex (sumatriptan) with Cymbalta (duloxetine) or with other SSRIs (fluoxetine, paroxetine, sertraline, fluvoxamine, citalopram, escitalopram), SNRIs, monoamine oxidase inhibitors, tricyclic antidepressants, 5-HT1 receptor agonists, ergot alkaloids, may potentiate the risk of potentially life-threatening serotonin syndrome.

Can you take Acetaminophen and Imitrex together?

There are no interactions between sumatriptan (Imitrex) and acetaminophen (Tylenol). So, it is safe to use them together.

Can you take Ibuprofen with Imitrex?

There are no interactions between sumatriptan (Imitrex) and ibuprofen (Advil, Motrin). So, it is safe to use them together.

Can you take Benadryl and Imitrex together?

Benadryl (diphenhydramine) does not interact with triptans.

Containdicated & Unsafe interactions:

Don't take sumatriptan (Imitrex) with:

  • ergotamine or ergotamine derivatives
  • other triptans
  • MAO inhibitors
