Tell your doctors about all the medicines you are taking and about any
allergies or sensitivities you may have to any drug
Be certain you understand all directions before taking any drug, such
as when to take it, with (or without) what, over what time period, and
what to do in the event of problems
Contact your physician immediately if side effects or any new symptoms
appear
Keep drugs in air-tight containers, avoid temperature extremes, store
them safely away from children
Don't take more or less than your prescription calls for
Don't suddenly stop or shorten the prescribed time, even if you are
feeling better
Don't move any drug from its original container into another
Don't keep outdated prescribed drugs
Know what to do if you forget a dose. This is different for each different
medication. Ask your pharmacist or physician
Don't take another person's medication, or give them yours
Encourage your children take their medicine by giving them a frozen
treat first to numb their taste buds
